Earache Remedies For Children
When a child is born it brings ultimate happiness and joy to the parents. Parents always make efforts to offer best of everything to their bundle of joy. Child's safety and security should always be on top priority list of the parents. When a child progresses, it is the duty of his parents to take proper care of his needs and aspirations.
Children are prone to infections because their immune system is weak and they catch cold, cough and other infections very easily. Earache is also a common problem and it really disturbs the child as well as his parents. Earaches are generally caused by problems in the outer ear or because of problems in the middle ear or the area behind the eardrum. There are other factors responsible for earaches like infections of throat, tonsillitis, continuous exposure to loud sound, deposition of excess wax or any insect entering into ear.
It is always advisable to seek medical intervention if the ache lasts for more than few hours. Self-diagnosis is not very prudent if in spite of providing home remedies, the ache is still persistent. The need of the hour is timely intervention of medical advice if the child is not responding to home remedies or natural remedies.
Young children may not be able to express the pain but continuous tugging at ears can provide a hint to the parents that he might be going through some twinge. There are many home remedies for earaches in children like putting some drops of mixture of sesame oil and clove oil in both ears or mixture of warm Bishop's weed oil and sesame oil. These remedies are tried and tested and prove very helpful at night when it is difficult to get medical guidance.
The mixture of paste of one clove of garlic with warm olive oil can provide instant relief to the child because garlic is a very good antibiotic. The paste of licorice with ghee if applied on the outer ear is also a good option. The mixture of linseed oil and two to three cloves of garlic is also a natural remedy for earache.
Putting a few drops of warm onion juice in the affected ear is also believed to be quite effective and has been a commonly used practice conventionally. Most commonly earache is a result of an ear infection. Taking supplements of Vitamin C is a good option because it improves the immune system. Dairy products like milk, butter, cheese, curd etc tend to intensify ear infections, so it is better to avoid them during an ear infection.
